How to Improve Sleep Quality
How you sleep is mostly determined by your behavior during the day.
Follow these simple steps for achieving good quality sleep:
- Avoid caffeine-based stimulants past 3 pm (e.g., coffee, tea)
- Let your bedroom be your safe haven
- Establish a relaxing bedtime ritual
- Follow a consistent sleep schedule
- Avoid heavy meals for dinner
- Turn off computer and TV 1 hour before bedtime
When you find yourself staring at the clock anxiously unable to fall asleep, get up and do a quiet and gentle activity for 20 mins (e.g., reading, writing, folding laundry) and then return to bed after. Another useful technique is to take a warm bath or shower or drink a warm non-caffeinated beverage.
How to Improve Sleep with Cryotherapy
Whole body cryotherapy (or WBC) is well known to release endorphins which once into the bloodstream will act as analgesic, diminishing the sensation of pain, acting also as a mild sedative. Cryotherapy shocks your body by exposing it to freezing temperatures for a few minutes (-274°F for about 2 to 3 minutes). The body’s protective response is to constrict muscles and tissues and increase blood flow. This chain reaction will release endorphins, boost your immune system, reduce pain, inflammation and stress level. For all these reasons, you can improve sleep with cryotherapy, whether primary chronic insomnia or secondary pain-related sleep disorders.
No human being can function properly without regular restful sleep. There are many reasons to insomnia or disrupted sleep or other secondary sleep disorders and thankfully we now have the possibility to improve sleep with cryotherapy. Cryotherapy will extend its benefits to your body not only at night but during the day as well. In the daytime it will give you a boost of energy and at night time will allow you to have a restful sleep.
